- 200g butter, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 200g good-quality milk chocolate, chopped
- 21/4 cups (200g) walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- vanilla ice-cream and hot chocolate fudge sauce (see note), to serve

- Add eggs and vanilla to chocolate mixture. Mix well. Stir in milk chocolate and walnuts. Sift flour and cocoa together over chocolate mixture. Stir to combine.
